Birthday card for my cousin

Hello,

Today I would like to share a card I made for my cousin Gillian for her birthday today.

Gillian's birthday card.
I've seen quite a lot of this style and layout made a home decor items but I wanted to give it a try as a birthday card.

I used the main flourish image from the "Baroque Motifs" stamp set and stamped it using the Versamark ink pad to give a gentle watermark image to the background.  Then used the "Beautiful Wings" embosslits die for the big shot to make all the butterflies you see here.  To give it a bit more sparkle I added jewels in the centre of all the butterflies and also I sprayed it with Champagne shimmer mist mixed with surgical spirit.

Inside detail
I decorated the inside, but for my message, I cut out a piece of  "Naturals Ivory" card stock, used the "Baroque Motifs" image again, added a further sentiment form the "Petite Pairs" stamp set to the left of the card.  I then adhered this using removable adhesive so that when Gillian's birthday is over, she can remove my message and re-use the card if she wants.

I was please how it came out, just hope she likes it.

Take care ... xx

Christmas DSP isn't just for Christmas!

Morning,

I know, all the Christmas decorations are boxed and put away and the home looks dull without all the lovely sparkly things, but that doesn't mean there isn't still fun to be had with Christmas DSP!

The top section of this birthday card is made using the "Holly Berry Bouquet" Speciality DSP and it just looks like some lovely spring time flowery paper.  This particular DSP also has sheets that have sparkly red dots and sparkly red stripes, so they both would be perfect for some Valentine projects,

So, if like me you miss Christmas already, just get out that Christmas paper and see how else it can be used and continue to put a little Christmas magic in all your projects throughout the year ahead.

Have a wonderful day... xx

Gift Holder for Mini Milk cartons

Hello,

There are several birthdays in January for me so I've been making gift holders and I thought I would share one of them with you today.

Front view
It's basically a holder for 4 of the mini milk carton boxes that are made with the mini milk carton die for the big shot.  It sort of reminds me of a McDonalds Happy Meal holder, but then it's years since I've seen one ~ lol!

Open

Once you undo the ribbon the two top handles are held together with velcro.

Milk carton boxes
I made the milk cartons using the same colour cardstock as is in the "Timeless Portrait" DSP.  The 2 'Neutral' colours I decorated with a piece of DSP, the ribbon made using the lace ribbon border punch and a pearl and the other two just got some DSP but with the image lined up in the same way.

Flat for storage
One of the nice things about this holder is that it folds flat for easy storage,

Hope you like it.

Take care .... xx

Fancy fold "Thank You" card

My lovely upline Sarah-Jane sent me a gift in the post for Christmas so obviously I had to send her a little "Thank You" card.

But when someone is as good a crafter as she is you obviously have to raise your game, so I thought I would try a fancy fold.

From this overview, you can see that there is a circle cut into the cardstock and folded.

This gives an easel type effect to the card.

So when you lift up the front of the card it stands up nicely on it's own.  The white section you can see in the previous two photo's is the area when I wrote my message.

It was fun to try something different from the usual tent fold or gate fold card, I just hope she liked it.

Take care, and have a great weekend ... xx

Xmas free zone today

My share today is the little gift I made for my very good friend Jeanne, whose birthday is today.

We have this thing where we give each other lottery tickets on our birthday, rather than "presents" as such, but this year I wanted to make her a little something as well, so I made a coordinating bag with little 3" square note cards inside.

Close up of the front of the card.  I used "Timeless Portrait" dsp as the background of the card and used the "Fun Flowers" Big Shot die for the flower that I used as my focal image on the front.

To secure the lottery tickets inside,  I used the "Lace Ribbon Border" punch, which I love, to hold the tickets in place, this coordinates with the strip on the front of the card, the only difference is that I used "Very Vanilla" on the front and "Marina Mist" cardstock on the inside.

The front of the bag uses the same products that are on the card, I just left off the punched out strip.  The handles are made from "Very Vanilla" stain ribbon,

As you can see, the 3 x 3" square cards fit perfectly inside the little bag and they are just right to write a little note or include with a gift.

Back to Christmasy thoughts I guess.....  xx
