Hello card

Hello there, hope this post finds you well :o)

Just a quick post today, just wanted to share with you a card I made for my new Stampin' Up! sister Hannah.

I made it using the very georgous DSP called "Springtime Vintage".  The frame around the 'Hello' is from the "Sew Lovely" stamp set, which has great images of a sewing based nature, which is so fashionable at the moment and the 'Hello' is from the stamp set called "Hello you" which is very affordable at only £8.95.  The sad thing is that all of these are on the retirement list, which means that they will no longer be available from 1st Oct, yes, that's right, available just until the end of tomorrow!  If you 'NEED' these or any items on the retirement list, then please contact me ASAP, I would hate for you to be disapointed.  The most up to date retirement list status can be found HERE

take care, chat again soon ... xx

Hummingbird Template

Early post today as I am off to see my Mum this morning. She is just out of hospital and still not very well, so I'm trying to spend a bit of time with her to cheer her up unfortunately that means going over to Notting Hill in the rush hour which is defiantly one of my least favourite things to do!!

So on to the sample I would like to share with you today, it started with the Hummingbird.

I downloaded the template from a magazine website, re-sized it and cut it out of "Springtime Vintage" DSP, (Summer Mini Cat Ref; 121782, Pg 17), I love this paper!

Then I left it sitting on my desk for a while whilst I wondered what I was going to do with it. I then choose my trusty "Fast & Fabulous" Lv 2 hostes stamp set, (which means it's FREE!), which I stamped using the "Night of Navy" marker as I don't have any of the 'Regal' ink pads yet, and "Rose Red" ink onto "Very Vanilla" cardstock. This was matted onto "Baja Breeze" and "Night of Navy" card stock then adhered to a "Crumb Cake" card blank. I then stamped a sentiment from the "Hello, You" stamp set, (Cat Ref; 117118, Pg 86), which is a lovely little stamp set and very affordable.

I then left it for a while, actually quite a long while! There was definatly something very missing, but really couldn't put my finger on what else it needed. Finally, on Saturday afternoon I grabbed my trusty glue pen, scribbled in the centre of the flowers and drizzled over some "Dazzling Diamonds" glitter which gave it just that something extra that it needed.

I love the movement and dimension of the hummingbird and it's defiantly a template that I will happily use again and again

So, in the end, this card took about 20 mins to actually, physically put together, but, from start to finish, it took ~ I breakfast, ~ 2 lunches, ~ 1 dinner, ~ 5 cups of tea, oh, and not forgetting a packet of Walkers Crinkles crisps - Sea Salt flavour, (love them!!), but I am now, mostly, satisfied with it! Do you every have projects like that???
