Happy Valentine's Day

Hope you have a lovely Valentine's day and get lots of lovely spoilish things.  No Valentine's chocolate for me this year, I've given chocolate up for Lent and I want to be good.

My share for you today is a little 2-4-6-8 box

2-4-6-8 just refers to the fact that you score along the long side of the cardstock / DPS at those measurements - in inches that is.  I'm going to do a little tutorial based on the size of cardstock I used to make this sized box, which is only about 10 cm tall, so just the rights size for something small and fabulous!

The little coloured sparkly hearts are just the Silver Glimmer paper coloured in, I used the "Pool Party" and "Primrose Petals" marker pens and punched them out using a heart punch. Unfortunatly  the colour in this photo doesn't do them justice.

Have a wonderful day...x

Blackboard Technique card

Another little Valentine's share for you today highlighting the "Blackboard" technique.  Basically, this technique makes your card look like a blackboard, with all the residue chalk from all the cleaning - was it just me or was being asked to clean the blackboard at school seem like a reward??

I stamped the main Valentine's image and the swirls in versamark ink and heat embossed using white embossing powder. The good thing with this technique is that you don't have to worry about stray embossing powder sticking to your project, in fact it all adds to the effect.
I drew the outer lines using a white pencil that I got from my local art shop.

I did this by wiping a sponge with just a touch of "Whisper White" craft ink over the whole of the black layer using the same motion that I would use to clean a blackboard. You can see the 'smeared' chalk dust type effect better on this angle that gives it that 'Blackboard' feel.

I also made the card using "Real Red" cardstock, just to see what the difference would be.

I actually quite like it.

but it's not so easy to see the 'smeared. chalk effect but it's easier to see IRL.

Hope you like it, let me know if you would like me to demo' this technique to you and a group of friends at a Stampin' Up workshop or if you would like to purchase any of the products use, please get in touch.

Until next time.... xx

Let the paper do the talking..

My share with for you today is a card where I've basically let the DSP do all the talking, well, when it's this pretty why wouldn't you??

I used the "More Amore" speciality DSP and one of the sheets has this lovely sentiment on, that is large enough to cover a standard A6 card front perfectly.

All I added was a lovely big, pink bow, using the very lush "Two-Tone" ribbon and added the cute valentine's ticket from the "That's the Ticket" stamp set.  I used the "Duo Ticket" punch to punch it out perfectly and used a small safety pin from the vintage trinkets set to attach it.

All so simple, but when things are this gorgeous you can let them do all the work.

Customer 'Thank You' card for February

Quickly wanted to come in and share with you my customer 'Thank You' card for February.  These are cards that I send as a little 'Thank You' that I do not write in, so that people who receive them can send them out themselves if they wish.

This month, I've made 2 cards as my customer 'Thank You' cards.

The first one is a Valentine's suitable card that I am sending out to those who place an order through me before 10th February.

The second one is a Birthday card that I'm sending out to anyone who places an order through me after the 10th Feb

I thought I would make two different cards this month as I didn't want to make just a Valentine's card as it would be a bit silly to send this out to someone after Valentine's day, plus it gave me an excuse to make more cards, which is always good

I used lots of lovely new products from the new Spring / Summer catalogue on this card, which goes live tomorrow, as well as Sale-a-bration products. See "Ingredients" below for details

Valentine's day ideas - No.4

Hello again,

Well, I can't find the photo's for the project I wanted to show you, so I will share this one with you instead.  As you can see, it's another card, but this time a full sized A6 card.

I used "Poppy Parade" cardstock and the "First Edition" DSP, which I think work wonderfully together.  I used the heart punches to create a 'kite' effect, with the linen thread as the kite string.

I heat embossed the image from the "Always Elegant" stamp set onto the cardstock before using the large heart punch so that I could get a symmetrical image on the heart.

I used the mat pack and the paper piecing tool to put holes all around the card and used a black marker to make the faux stitching.

I really like this card, hope you do too.
