Countdown to Christmas ~ Wk's 8 & 9 - finally!

FINALLY!! - Let me explain, I've been trying to blog for nearly two weeks now and I just couldn't log in.  No idea why, I have upgraded my browser and a tweaked a few things on my laptop, so not sure if all the computerie housekeeping has been the cause and eventual solution, but at least I'm logged in now - phew!

So, realising that I'm a couple of weeks behind with my Christmas shares, so without further ado, let me share with you a couple of projects to get back on track.

First project is a little simple gift idea.

This is made from an envelope with a few fancy folds, run through the bigshot machine using a snowflake embossing folder that I have in my stash.  I wrapped a belly band round to add the sentiment to and to give a bit of focus, used a cello bag and a bit of ribbon to make it look all pretty.

This close up shows the detail of the embossing folder that I highlighted by rubbing a classic ink pad over and covering with "Dazzling Diamonds" glitter ~ well, you have to have a bit of glitter on Christmas things.

And inside, well, I added a couple of the Options "Indulgence" hot chocolate drinks, but they are only 60 calories each, so a bit naughty and nice - perfect!

My second share today is a really simply card using the same embossing folder from my stash.  This type of card is great as it is easy to replicate if you need to make loads.

Using the embossing folder, just run "Whisper White" through the big shot, wrap some "Old Olive" ribbon round, adhere to a  "Cherry Cobbler" card blank, add a sentiment using "Cherry Cobbler" ink, and your done.  I didn't add glitter to this one, but I sprayed it with some shimmer paint mixed with surgical spirit to give it a nice shimmery look.

Well, that's it from me today, hopefully I'll be able to post again tomorrow - fingers crossed!

Take very good care of yourselves... xx

Countdown to Christmas ~ Wk 6

Hi there,

Sorry for not blogging for a while, a combination of sickness and injury within my household through out my schedule, the good thing is that I've been working on a few projects that I will be sharing with you over the next few days and I've got the tutorial for the box I shared HERE

This week my countdown to Christmas share is a few little fun items and, after all, it's the little things that really help make Christmas special.

It's a little box made using the Petal Card punch and as you can see from the photo, it's just big enough for a Lindor chocolate - yum!  I've only made one but I will make more nearer the time and hang them on the tree.  Unfortunately, I used 'Jolly Holiday' Designer Series Paper, (DSP), which has now sold out  :o(
I'm really going to miss this paper but the new collection comes out on Saturday - yay!

The next little item I'm sharing today is another little treat holder, whilst it's still small it's defiantly bigger then the first item!

For this one I didn't use Christmas paper at all, but the 'Celebrations' DSP as I wanted to show that you don't have to have specific Christmas paper to make something Christmasy, you just have to add a few Christmasy touches.

Here I have stamped snow flakes and a 'Merry Christmas' sentiment onto a label and no one would notice it's not Christmas paper, I also used the Crimper, (which was a present from my son for my birthday),  on each end to give it a more finished look.

... and the little goodie that is hiding inside this little treat package ...

Mint chocolate - YUM!

Hope you like these little treat ideas, please pop back tomorrow when I will post my box tutorial.

Until then, ....  xx

Countdown to Christmas ~ Week 2

Hello again,

I have another Christmas project to share with you this week and it's another card and another simple one, just with quite a few steps.

First I stamped the images, then punched them out using the "Ornament" punch, then adhered them to the "Cherry Cobbler" cardstock then stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink, added white embossing powder and applied heat.  I then put it into the "Vintage Wallpaper" embossing folder and run it through the "Big Shot".  This technique is called Emboss Embed, when you look at the card it looks like the image is actually part of the cardstock as though it was printed on.
Then I glued the silver cord on, tied little bows and attached to the images then matted onto "Very Vanilla" cardstock then attached that with "Dimensionals" to the "Old Olive" card blank.  Then of course, spritzed it with "Champagne Mist" glimmer paint mix in Surgical Spirit, to make it all shimmery - so cute.

Even though there are quite a few steps,  once you get a little production line going, doing each stage one at a time for multiply cards, you can get quite a few done in a relatively short amount of time.  The thing that took the longest time was tying all those little bows, not easy for me as I have big fingers, but so worth it.

Hope you like it, sorry it doesn't look that shimmery in the photo but it really is so sparkly IRL.

Have a great weekend .... xx

Count down to Christmas ~ Wk 1

Hi there,

Between now and the end of November my Saturday posts will all be Xmas projects ~ yes, I know it's only August, but did you know that 18 weeks today it will be Christmas Eve!!! - I don't know about you but from my point of view - EEK!!!  I have set myself a target to make all my cards this year and make at least 50 for the local charity shop as well as making holders for gift cards and money, tree decorations, table decorations etc etc -  deep gulp!! :o/

So, to get started, this weeks project is a card.  It is quite simply and easy to mass produce, I've made about 8 of them over the last couple of days, so a good start, I just hope I can keep this up, along with the other projects and cards I have to make for the birthdays, anniversaries, new baby and the wedding that is coming up within my family and friends circle between now and Christmas!

I used the "Jolly Holidays" Designer Series Paper, (DSP). I love this paper and will be sad when it retires at the end of September. I kept the very classic colour palette from the DSP of "Old Olive", "Very Vanilla" and "Cherry Cobbler" which is such a great Christmas combination.

Oh, and of course there is sparkle; it's both glittery and shimmery  :o)

Hope you like them, if you would like to get your hands on this fab DSP or any Stampin' Up products, please don't hesitate to get in contact, always happy to chat about pretty paper and delightful stamps. Oh, and if you are now starting to think that you need a big input of Christmasy crafting inspiration, then please head over to my lovely Stampin' Up 'Mum's' blog where she has a mega tutorial that you can buy for a dozen crafty Christmas ideas, trust me, all the projects are excellent, easy to follow and a bargain price! Check it out for yourself here dazzlin-dozen-tutorials
