3-layer card

Blimey I'm late in posting today so I'll just quickly show you my project.

It's one of those 3 layer cards that seem to be everywhere at the moment, I guess people like them as they  look so good but are so easy to make.

I had to put a little sparkle on there, so I used one of the "Concord Crush" glimmer brads, which are retiring at the end of the month.  (Don't forget to check using the link above on the status of all the retiring products)

I can't do it today, but next week I'll work on a little tutorial for you to show you how this style of card is done.

take care .. xx

Team Swop cards

Yesterday there was a Stampin' Up team meeting at my lovely up-line's house, unfortunately I wasn't able to attend this one, but I still wanted to make a few swop cards for my team mates.

I used the Notelet cards, again, (I love these), and my paper is from the Patterns DSP pack in Brights, well, it is Summer so bright and cheerful colours seemed the order of the day.

All the cards where monochromatic but I used 6 different colours from the "Brights" collection so that my team makes could choose which colour they wanted.

I also made an envelop to go with them.  For this size card you need to start with a piece of cardstock, (or whatever your envelop medium is), that is 7" x 7" and Stampin' Up's "Simply Scored Scoring Tool" and the "Diagonal Plate"  so that you get the perfect scoring alignment.  Using these tools I  scored at 2-3/4" on opposite sides and then 3-3/4" on the remaining two sides.

I used the stamp set "Delicate Doilies" for the main focal image and punched it out with the "Blossom" punch,. Whilst this stamp it too big for this punch I still think it still produces an attractive image if you line up the punch correctly.  I also used the 1" punch to punch out the center of another image from the same stamp set and I added "Dazzling Diamonds" glitter to and popped it up with dimensional adhesive.

Hope they liked them, have a great day... xx

Shiny "Thank You" card

Hello,

I'm really late in posting today as I've been busy working on my Swop cards for next weekends regional training.  This is just one of the many wonderful things about being a Stampin' Up demonstrator, they give so much in the way of training and support.

The project that I'm sharing today is a card I made a while ago but forgot to post.  I wanted to play with stamping using the shimmer paint.

As you can see from the photo, it works well as I stamped an image from the "Delicate Doilies" stamp set, which I really like and I'm not sure why I haven't used it more.

Ooo Shiny!
Stamping with the shimmer paint makes a really lovely, shiny image.  I teamed it up with some paper from the "Mocha Morning" Specialty DSP, which is very rich looking.

I liked the look of stamping with the shimmer paint and it is something that I will defiantly be doing again.

Enjoy the rest of your Friday.... xx

Mother's Day projects - No. 1

Hello there,

Over the next few days I am going to share with you a few projects for Mother's Day ~ can you believe it's just over a week away, how did that happen!

My first project is a CAS, ("Clean and Simple"), card using the "Delicate Doilies" stamp set.

I stamped the main image in "Pool Party" classic ink, then, using a sponge dauber, added more colour to the image.

For the embellishment, I used one of the really cute buttons from the "Bitty Buttons" set and backed it with "Pool Party" cardstock.  I threaded some linen thread through the holes and tied a bow ~ yes, it was fiddly to tie ~ lol!

Hope you like it, please come back tomorrow for some more Mother's Day ideas.

Friday, 27 January 2012

So Friday again already!  Seriously I do not know where the time goes!

As I mentioned yesterday, my sisters birthday is this weekend, so I made another card for her, this time one that Ben, (DS), could send to her.  I wanted to do a card with a little bit of springtime colour to brighten up these cold January mornings, but, as I mentioned yesterday, she is still quite tomboyish, so I had to be a bit subtle about how I went about it.

As to the layout,  I've seen quite a few cards on various websites that utilise this basic sketch and I really like it  and I can add just enough pretty colours without it being girlie.
The photo looks a bit flecky but that's because I used  "Confetti White" cardstock which has touches of colour embedded into it so I could sneak in a bit more of the 'pretty' and hope she doesn't notice - lol!

Have a wonderful day, chat soon ...xx

Morning,

Hope you and your family had a good weekend and a fun and safe Bonfire Night. Me?, I didn't go out all weekend as I'm terrified of fireworks after being hurt by one as a child but it gave me a great excuse to sit at my crafting desk so it was a pretty good weekend for me too!

Today's share is another card where the fold is the star.
Flat on craft mat

Upright, they remind me of Tie Fighters from Star Wars!
I used the "Flirtatious" Speciality DSP, which is just lovely and the coordinating stamp set "Delicate Doilies", the images of which are just so pretty.

I also did one using a predominately "Wisteria Wonder" sheet from the same DSP.

For the ribbon on this one, I used "Whisper White" 1/4" grosgrain and dyed it using the "Wisteria Wonder" ink.
You start with a 12" x 4" strip of DSP and the finished card is 4" x 4",  so you can get 3 of these from each sheet of 12" x 12", so great if you want to make a stack of cards quickly, maybe for post 'event' thank yous or as little invites.  I attached a piece of "Whisper White" on the back of the paper for any message, sentiment etc.

Hope you like them... take care xx
