Hello there,

A really quick post today, we are having major technical trauma's with the computers in our house today ~ too long and dull to go into, but wanted to quickly post something in this moment of actually being able to get on the internet on one of the machines as I haven't been able to post for a few days :-(

Anyway, todays sample is a very easy card. It started with the card blank, which is one that I had in my stash and for the life of me, I can't remember where I got it from. It has the little blue flowers already printed on it. Now I'm not really a fan of pre-printed cardstock for a card blank as they can be so pretty that I don't want to put anything over the top but this design works really well as a background I embossed a rectangle on some 'Marina Mist' cardstock, then stamped on some 'Whisper White card stock. The stamp I used is from the "Engraved Greetings" set. I used 'Marina Mist' and 'Real Red' markers to colour the stamp and then added a blob of 'Crystal Effects' in the center of the image for additional decoration. I used 'Snail' to adhere the stamped image to the 'Marina Mist' then 'Stampin' Dimensional' to adhere that to the card blank.

My brother-in-law got this one, he likes flowers, bright colours and patterns, so hopefully he liked this one. My next post will be what I made for him for my DS to send.

Take care ... xx

'Nature' type card

Hello all, hope you are well and that the sun is shining wherever you are.

Today, the card I would like to share with you today was made using the "Every Moment" stamp set. Now I would not consider this stamp set part of my usual style at all, but the benefit of a company like Stampin' Up is they cater for all tastes and therefore you find yourself browsing through the catalogue and starting to like things you would never normal be drawn to. This was the case with this stamp set and I have to say I really like it and I'm enjoying playing with it at the moment.

This cards also uses the "Confetti" stamp set as a background stamp, going over the solid leaves with a Versamarker and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. I used 'Crumb Cake' from the card base, used the 'Scallop Trim Border' punch on 1 edge of 'Cajun Craze' cardstock and tore the edges on the others and stamped the images onto 'Very Vanilla' cardstock and, once again, tore the edges. I coloured the images with a blender pen, which has to be one of my favourite tools ever! I also added a hint of sparkle on the butterfly with the Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

I was please with my attempts at trying a different genre of stamps, hope you like it too.

take care, and big hugs ~ until we chat again ...xx

"Less is More" 1 layer Challenge card

Hello,

Still having problems with my blog interface, but hopefully this post will actually post!

Today I would like to share with you a card I made to enter into the "Less is More" challenge. The challenge was to make a 1 layered card that includes a frame of some sort.

I used Very Vanilla card stock for the card blank and to stamp the word "love" I used "Schoolbook Serif alphabet" stamps and Rose Red classic stamp pad. The tiny "you" within the 'O' is from the "Tiny Tags" stamp set and I used Night of Navy marker pen. I also used a Rose Red marker pen to draw the lines that make up the 'frame' part of the card.

That's all for now as the interface I'm using is driving me up the wall!!

Take care xx

Simply Stampin' Challenge No. 11

Sorry for not blogging much lately, I'm having some problems with the blogging software which is making it difficult to add new pictures and I really don't think you want a blog with me just rambling on :o)

I'm working on sorting it out, but in the meantime, I've managed to upload this card, not a very good picture I'm afraid ~ trouble with the photo editing software too, (isn't it great how technology makes life easier!!).

It's for this weeks challenge over at "Simply Stampin' Challenge". It's a colour challenge this week, the colour combo being; Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake and Concorn Crush.

I used the flower stem image from "Fast & Fabulous" stamp set stamped in Chocolate Chip classic ink and Concord Crush class ink to stamp the petals over the top, the petals stamp is from the same stamp set and is FREE as it is a level 2 hostess gift - yes, really, no money at all! I tied 1/2" stitched poly-ribbon in Concord Crush into a knot around the card that I stamped my images on before attaching it with dimensional adhesive foam pads to the Chocolate Chip cardstock and lastly I added faux stitching to the edges of the Concord Crush cardstock to replicate the stitching on the ribbon.

Hope you like it, anyway, must dash and try and sort out this silly software as I have lots to share with you and chat about :o)

Take care of yourselves.... xx
