Colourful "Get-Well" wishes

My poor Sister-in-law has recently had a fall and broke her hip so I wanted to make her a colourful, sparkly and cheerful card.

I actually had a couple of these butterflies sitting on my crafting desk for a few day and was wondering what to do with them as I knew I wanted to do a 'rainbow' of butterflies but wasn't sure how I would display them, but when I came to putting a card together for her it all just fell into place beautifully.

I love the few lines of little hearts that the "Textured Impressions" embossing folder add, it's a nice, subtle detail that adds a lovely finishing touch.

I hope she liked it, chat again soon ... xx

Pinwheel Cards

Hello,

Couple of cute little cards for you today,

Pin-wheels are really popular in paper-crafting at the moment, so I thought I'd have a go and make a couple of little ones that would fit on a standard A6 sized card and enjoyed making the first one so much I decided to make another one, this time making the pin-wheel bigger.

They are so quick and easy to make and use the minimum of supplies, plus it brought back happy memories of when I used to make them when I was little, thought I used to make much bigger ones then.

Hope you have a great weekend... xx

Xmas free zone today

My share today is the little gift I made for my very good friend Jeanne, whose birthday is today.

We have this thing where we give each other lottery tickets on our birthday, rather than "presents" as such, but this year I wanted to make her a little something as well, so I made a coordinating bag with little 3" square note cards inside.

Close up of the front of the card.  I used "Timeless Portrait" dsp as the background of the card and used the "Fun Flowers" Big Shot die for the flower that I used as my focal image on the front.

To secure the lottery tickets inside,  I used the "Lace Ribbon Border" punch, which I love, to hold the tickets in place, this coordinates with the strip on the front of the card, the only difference is that I used "Very Vanilla" on the front and "Marina Mist" cardstock on the inside.

The front of the bag uses the same products that are on the card, I just left off the punched out strip.  The handles are made from "Very Vanilla" stain ribbon,

As you can see, the 3 x 3" square cards fit perfectly inside the little bag and they are just right to write a little note or include with a gift.

Back to Christmasy thoughts I guess.....  xx

New Home Card

Today’s share is a 'New Home' card that the recipient should have by now, so I'm safe publishing it to my blog.

Basic premise for this card was CASED, but being an idiot, I can't remember where from, (if you know, please tell me so I can give due credit – thanks!), and I’ve tweaked it a little bit as I was doing it from memory.

The paper was old Stampin’ Up paper that I had in my stash that I’m trying to use up. The image is from the 'Neighbourhood' jumbo wheel that I stamped onto Water colour paper in versamark ink and heat embossed using a mixture of black and gold embossing powder, which give a really cool two-tone effect. I coloured in the image using my blender pen, which I love doing, using the colours from the paper and then added three co-ordinating brads and some Marina Mist grosgrain ribbon.

The sentiment is from the 'Sincere Salutations' stamp set.

I liked the card so much that I'm in the middle of making another one to put in my stash of cards that are ready to go for when a last minute 'New Home' card is needed.

Cheerio for now, until we chat again xx
