Easter Project - No. 2

Another Easter card for you today and I have to admit that I'm not that happy with it, but I think it's a good idea to share not just the good, but the bad and the ugly too!

Now, I'm not saying that this card is either 'bad' or 'ugly' but there is something about it that I'm not happy with that I can't put my finger on at the moment.

I used the "Everybunny" stamp set, which I love, it's sooo cute!  I also used the "Delightful Dozen" stamp set for the sentiment, which is a great stamp set and should be in every crafters stash!

Anyway, I'm off to ponder this card for a bit and see if I can come up with what's bugging me about it, chat again soon... x

Quick Christmas card

Hi there,

Quick post today of a really easy to make but very striking Christmas card

I made it using the "Northern Flurry" embossing folder for the Big Shot machine.  I just ran a piece of "Whisper White" cardstock through the Big Shot, used "midnight Muse ink to add the sentiment from the "Delightful Dozen" stamp in the un-embossed corner and adhered it to a piece of "Midnight Muse" cardstock that I used as my card blank.

I then sprayed it with the "Vanilla Shimmer" Smooch Spritz and I was done, other than to wait for the Smooch Spritz to dry and when it does, it leaves a gorgeous shimmer on the card.

See, easy peasy!  You could whip up a batch of these in no time.

Retiring Designer Series Paper

Hello there,

Just wanted to quickly share with you a couple of cards I've made in the last few days that uses some of the great retiring DSP from the 2011/12 Stampin' Up catalogue. Also, all DSP is currently reduced in price by  25 or 40% ~ yay!

This first card uses the Christmas themed "Holly Berry" Speciality DSP, which is currently 40% off, so making it just £6.90 per pack.

My 2nd share today is a Halloween themed card using the "Frightful Sight" DSP, which is also currently 40% off, making it just £5.97 per pack

I used the Oval punches to make the pumpkins and drew on the Jack-o-lantern faces, for some reason I really like drawing these faces on myself!

You only have until the end of this month to get these great paper collections as the new catalogue is launched on the 1st October.

If you would like more information on what products are retiring at the end of this month or how to book a demonstration or have any questions regarding any Stampin' Up product, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

Simple Wedding Card

Hello there,

Today I am going to share with you a card I made for my Stampin' Up "sister" Hannah, who is getting married today.

As you can see, I kept it really simple using "Confetti White" cardstock for the base card, (well, you wood wouldn't you), and I cut out the envelope using the White Vellum cardstock so that you could see through to all those pretty little love hearts on the inside.

The love hearts were made using the 4 petal punch from the "Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, and just cutting two of the 'petal' pieces off.  It took a little while to do, but I just sat watching telly and I ended up cutting loads more than I needed, and it was a great way to use up really small scraps of cardstock.

I glued the shapes into the envelope before making the envelope up, that way ensuring that they wouldn't fall out all over the place and also providing perfect coverage for the glue when I came to adhere the envelope to the card base.  As you can see from the above picture, I added glitter to all the little hearts, just to give it a little bit of sparkle and shine.

I hope she likes it and that she has a wonderful day.

Until next time .... xx

Father's Day Projects ~ No. 6

Happy Father's Day.

Very quick post as I am running very late.  My share is a last minute Father's Day project.  It's little 'Match-book' brag book, perfect for Dad's briefcase or back pocket.

It's only 4" x 3" in size and opens just like a match book.

Photo's need to go in here, but I haven't put in any yet as I made this for a friend and they'll do that bit for themselves, the photo's will be 3" x 3"

You can put in as many sheets as you like, you could even put in plain "Whisper White" sheets so the kids can do a little drawing or write little messages.

I thought it would be perfect as a project to make today so that you can put in any photo's of your actual Father's Day activities so it really will be a "Father's Day" father's day gift.

take care ... xx

Father's Day Projects ~ Day 4

Another Father's Day project for you today which may look very familiar to my post on Tuesday, only this time it's a regular Tie card rather then the Bow Tie.

I used mostly the same supplies, only this time I didn't emboss the "Very Vanilla" Layer I stamped it using the "Woodgrain" background stamp instead.  This stamp is the perfect stamp for masculine cards for all occasions.

The ties are really easy to make and I'll be back later today with a very short post showing how to make them.

Hope you like this slightly different take on my card from Tuesday, chat again soon ... xx

Project Ingredients

Stamp Sets : "Delightful Dozen" & "Woodgrain" background stamp
Card stock : "Pacific Point" & "Very Vanilla"
Accessories : Patterned  DSP in "Regals" & "Brights";
Colour:  StazOn Ink & "Sahara Sand" Classic Ink
Tools : Tape runner adhesive;  Dimensional adhesive

Father's Day Projects ~ Day 3

Yay ~ Another bank holiday, I could get used to having extra long weekends every year :o)

My share for you today is another Father's Day project, this time a card.

It's a Bow Tie card

I actually drew and cut out the template for the bow on cardstock then traced around it onto the Patterned DSP.  If you are not confident in your template drawing or cutting out, then you could use the "Petite Pennants Builder" punch to cut out each side of the bow.

I love using the Patterned DSP packs as they are such great value and I think all the patterns are perfect for 'manly' projects. I used the "Not Quite Navy" and "Night of Navy" from the 'Regals Collection' and "Pacific Point" from the 'Brights Collection'

I thought layering the 'bows' straight onto the "Very Vanilla" cardstock layer looked a little bland so after I stamped the sentiment I ran the layer through the 'Big Shot' using the "Square Lattice" embossing folder to give it some interest, then added the bow ties. Top Tip ~ When adhering your embossed layer, use liquid glue rather than a tape runner as the act of running the tape on the cardstock can flatten your embossed image.

The sentiment stamp comes from the "Delightful Dozen" set and, in my opinion, if you are just starting out stamping and want to know a good all-rounder to get you going, then this set is it!

I'll be back tomorrow with something a little more feminine, enjoy your day!   ... xx

Just for fun ~ in Red, White & Blue!

As we go into the long bank holiday weekend I thought I would make a 60th Congratulatory card ~ just for fun, though if I do bump in to Her Maj' in Tescos over the weekend I will give it to her ;o)

The '60th' is very sparkly as I used "Dazzling Diamonds" Glitter, (obviously for a diamond jubilee) and then put  "Crystal Effects" over the top, so super shiny too and for a change you can actually see this on the card to some extent.

Remember, if you want to know more about any Stampin' Up product or would like to book a FREE workshop for you and your friends, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

Have a great day.... xx

Easter Projects ~ No. 6

Hello, hope you are having a lovely Good Friday, we are all being very mellow and lazy here, which is lovely.

My share for you today is another Easter card.

It's a box card and uses both "Easter Blossoms" and "Everybunny" Easter themed stamp sets.

It's quite easy to make, I cut out a circle in the centre of the "Lucky Limeade" piece, I used this to draw, very lightly in pencil, the circle on the "Whisper White" piece so that I knew where to stamp my main image.

Once all the stamping and colouring was done I scored both pieces of cardstock at 1cm on both ends and stuck them together.

Whilst the two main stamp sets used are themed for Easter, both of these sets have wonderfully images that can be used all year round, I'll be sharing some projects showcasing their versatility over the coming weeks.

Project Ingredients

Stamp Sets : "Easter Blossoms"; "Everybunny" & "Delightful Dozen"
Card stock : "Whisper White"; "Lucky Limeade" & "Pool Party"
Colour  StazOn In;  Versamark Ink; "Pool Party"; "Lucky Limeade"; "So Saffron" & "River Rock" classic ink pads
Tools : "SNAIL" adhesive; "Modern Label" punch

"Sale-a-bration" ends today ~ last look

Hi there, hope you are having a lovely Saturday.

Today I will be sharing the last lot of projects I've made using the exclusive products you can get for free as part of this years "Sale-a-bration" event.

These two cards are basically the same, the only real difference is that on the top card I used the "Postage Stamp" punch and on the bottom the "1 1/4" Square" punch.  The card blanks for these are 2/3rd of a sheet of A4 "Confetti Cream" cardstock folded in half.  Cards this size fit into a standard business envelope.

The next couple of cards are Easter cards, which I am waaaay behind on!

The "Everyday Enchantment" DSP is perfect for Easter projects.

On both of these cards I used the large image from "Creative Elements" stamp set as a background stamp.

This next card has a very simple colour palette being just Black, White & Red. This uses the "Fresh Vintage" stamp set from the "Sale-a-bration" collection.

Just to add some interest, I added a string of pearls to underline the sentiment and also on the centre of the butterfly that I cut out using "Beautiful Wings" embosslit and the "Everyday Enchantment" DSP.

... and finally,

A celebration card using the "Outlined Occasions" stamp set, which is another "Sale-a-bration" option.

Well I hope you have found some inspiration amongst these last few projects, I can honestly say that the products being offered for free as part of this years "Sale-a-bration" is outstanding and I'm sorry that they will no longer be available after today, so if you want to get your hands on, please don't delay and get in contact today as I would hate for anyone to be disappointed.  Remember, you can choose 1 item for every £45 spent

Mother's Day projects - No.3

Now I have to be honest and say that this is a scheduled post as I wanted a lay-in this morning but still wanted to make sure that my post went up at a reasonable time ~ well, it is Sunday!  :o)

Today's Mother's day project is a quick little item that can be whipped up in minutes.

They are little mini-size post-it note holders, perfect size for carrying around in a purse or handbag when all you need is a little bit of paper to make a quick note on.

I used Versamark ink and clear embossing powder with the the Sale-a-bration stamp set "Sprinkled Expressions for the floral image and the sentiment from the "Delightful Dozen" stamp set ~ again, I know, but it's such a lovely sentiment.

Inside I stamped the coordinating image from "Sprinkled Expressions" in black StazOn ink, added a little stack of small post-it notes.  I used my Crop-a-dile to punch the hole, then used stitched poly ribbon in matching colour.

This is a really cute little item and can easily be adapted for any occasion.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone! ... xx

Mother's Day projects - No.2

Morning, hope you are well and you're able to find some time to be crafy this weekend!

Today is day 2 of my Mother's Day project ideas and today I have another card for you, but this one is defiantly very different looking to yesterdays.

As you can see, it is much more ornate, but it is just as simple to put together.  "Whisper White" for the card blank, with a layer of "Poppy Parade" then a layer of "Everyday Enchantment" DSP, which is just too gorgeous for words and I still can't believe that this is an free option as part of Stampin' Up's Sale-a-bration event.  I actaully had this much of the card put together for weeks, I liked the DSP so much that I didn't want to put anything over the top of it

Eventually I added the sentiment from the "Delightful Dozen" sentiment set, defiantly something for every occasion in that one, and added some butterflies cut out using "Beautiful Wings" embosslit, a couple of pearls on the butterflies and I was done.  As I say, a really simple card and a great layout that can be used again and again for all sorts of occasions and it still lets that beautiful DSP shine through.

I've also decorated an envelope to match using the floral image in the "Fresh Vintage" stamp set, which is also one of the options offered as part of Sale-a-bration.

Please note - Sale-a-bration finishes at the end of the month, so if you would like to get your hands on the stamp set or DSP featured today, only have until then.  Once Sale-a-bration is over these options will no longer be available, you won't be able to event buy them as they are exclusive to this event this year.

Happy crafting..... xx

Mother's Day projects - No. 1

Hello there,

Over the next few days I am going to share with you a few projects for Mother's Day ~ can you believe it's just over a week away, how did that happen!

My first project is a CAS, ("Clean and Simple"), card using the "Delicate Doilies" stamp set.

I stamped the main image in "Pool Party" classic ink, then, using a sponge dauber, added more colour to the image.

For the embellishment, I used one of the really cute buttons from the "Bitty Buttons" set and backed it with "Pool Party" cardstock.  I threaded some linen thread through the holes and tied a bow ~ yes, it was fiddly to tie ~ lol!

Hope you like it, please come back tomorrow for some more Mother's Day ideas.

Stamp Sets : "Delicate Doilies" & "Delightful Dozen"
Card stock : "Pool Party" & "Whisper White"
Accessories: "Bitty Buttons" & Linen thread

Friday, 27 January 2012

So Friday again already!  Seriously I do not know where the time goes!

As I mentioned yesterday, my sisters birthday is this weekend, so I made another card for her, this time one that Ben, (DS), could send to her.  I wanted to do a card with a little bit of springtime colour to brighten up these cold January mornings, but, as I mentioned yesterday, she is still quite tomboyish, so I had to be a bit subtle about how I went about it.

As to the layout,  I've seen quite a few cards on various websites that utilise this basic sketch and I really like it  and I can add just enough pretty colours without it being girlie.
The photo looks a bit flecky but that's because I used  "Confetti White" cardstock which has touches of colour embedded into it so I could sneak in a bit more of the 'pretty' and hope she doesn't notice - lol!

Have a wonderful day, chat soon ...xx
