Special Birthday Card

Hello,

It was my little baby nephew's 1st birthday yesterday, so obviously I had to make him a special card, it's the first time he's got any!!

I used the "Up, Up and Away" stamp set as I think it has great images for small people, especially if you used lovely bright colours.

I used the "Timeless Type Junior Alphabet" die for the big shot to cut out the letters of his name.  They cut really well and, I think, make the card a little bit more special when it is personalised, also, this is a great way of using up cardstock scraps as you need so little to cut out the letters.

I love the little clouds that are also in the "Up, Up and Away" stamp set.

I'm defiantly in a colourful mood lately which is not like me at all, it must have something to do with the sun coming out again, oh well, it will soon pass ;-)

Yet another 'Balloon' birthday card

What can I say, the balloons in the "Up, Up and Away" stamp set are just so cheery it's difficult to stop using them.

I also used the "Sweet Cake" stamp set for the sentiment, which I think are great and very usable.

If you look at the lower section of the card, just above the sentiment, you will see the where I've used the Crimper to add some texture to the card.

The clouds are sooo cute!

I added 'colour' to the clouds by colouring them in with a Versa Marker pen.  This just gives them a slightly deeper colour.  A Versa Marker pen is a great way of doubling up your ink colours as, as you can see from my example, it makes very colour of cardstock you have look just that slightly bit darker.

Enjoy the rest of your day.... xx

Cute "Balloon" birthday cards

Hi there,

Hope you are having a lovely Saturday.

My share for you today are a couple of cute little 4" x 4" birthday cards.  I really like this size, I think it is about as small as you can go for an actual card, anything smaller than this and really you are into note card/gift tag territory.

I threaded some ruffled ribbon through the holes in one of the circle pieces from the "perfect Pennants" die.  I think that maybe this would work better with slightly thinner ribbon, but as the ribbon is, by it's very nature, rufflie' I quite like it.

I also used the solid balloon image from the  "Up, Up & Away" stamp set, which is an adorable stamp set and so bright and jolly and perfect for cards during the summer. The above photo shows the card in greater detail and shows up the little cloud images, which are so sweet.

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday ... xx

Little ones birthday cards.

Hello there,

Well I had a great weekend, I went to Stampin' Up's regional training in Reading and had a great time meeting up with all my Stampin' Up friends.  I will be sharing some of the swops I got and the projects we made over the next week or so, but there is so much going on that I hardly know where to start.

Well for today, I'll share a card or two with you.

I've been making a few baby appropriate birthday cards as lots of people I know had babies last year and they are starting reach their first birthday so I wanted to get a little stash of cards to that I am ready to go when the birthdays come round.

I decided to go with "Pear Pizzaz" for the boy cards and "Blushing Bride" for the girls.

The stamp set is from a new one that will be available from tomorrow, when the new Summer mini catalogue launches and I can't wait as it has so many gorgeous goodies in it I'm finding it hard to put down

I intend stamp a "1" onto the left hand balloon but have deliberately left them blank for now in case I do end up making more baby birthday cards, I can keep these by for next year.

That's it for today, tomorrow is a BIG day with loads of Stampin' Up news, so don't forget to pop back then.  My post should be live by around 9am.

take care... xx
